Phillip Island

My friend and I recently made a spontaneous day trip to Phillip Island. The gorgeous island lies about two hours south of Melbourne, and is a popular tourist destination in the warmer months. The island was surprisingly quiet for my visit.

While driving around the island, the cool scenery reminded me of those lovely little seaside towns that appear in British films. Georgia and I pulled up at Woolamai beach, and walked along Cape Woolamai for hours.

After the walk we were very peckish. We found an awesome burger joint called Island Burger Bar. I had the Vista burger, which consisted of a delectable lentil and sweet potato patty, stacked grilled vegetables and hummus. So. Darn. Good. Georgia and I also shared a massive bowl of sweet potato fries. They were soft on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. The food was great value, the staff was really laid back and the beer garden had a chilled out vibe.

Phillip Island is a beautifully unique part of Victoria. If you’re looking for a calming coastline away from the city, check it out.
