Cactus Country

I recently ventured to Mexico with my friend, Georgia.

Just kidding. We visited Cactus Country, a huge cactus garden located just a few hours away from Melbourne, in Strathmerton. The 10-acre dreamland is home to over 10 thousand species of succulent and cactus. There are also many gorgeous murals amongst the plants.

Georgia and I explored for hours. We felt like we were part of an old western, crossed with the Mexican version of Alice in Wonderland and a dash of Lana Del Rey. Seriously.

Before hitting the road, we stopped by the cafe for a spot of cactus cake and cactus ice cream. The ice cream was especially blissful as we basked in the sun, taking in the picturesque view.

If you consider yourself a cacti-lover, or are just looking for something spontaneous to do, make a day trip to Cactus Country.
